Beck, Female, Native Place: WashingtonTacoma, Date of Birth: 05/18/1949, Jan disappeared from the Western State Mental Hospital in Lakewood, Washington on September 12, 2001. Lakewood is a suburb of Tacoma, WA. The social workers who worked with her are convinced her health was so poor she would not have been able to walk/travel very far. The hospital did not notify Jan's family about her disappearance until about 5 weeks later. Someone (unknown to the family) notified Social Security about her "death", and listed her death date as February 22, 2002.
